Team Tennis Challenge a Winner

July 21, 2018 08:38 AM

BCTA’s Laura Canfield noted, “Athletes were recommended by their coaches for this invitational event. The emphasis was on participation, fun and sportsmanship—the first introduction to competition for most players.”

In the spirit of the then-ongoing Wimbledon Championships, teams in the Red and Orange Ball division were placed on joint teams that were named after professional male players who made it to the Grand Slam’s semi-finals.  Every point scored in an athletes match was counted toward their overall team score and winners were declared for gold, silver, bronze as well as team sportsmanship categories.   Green Ball competed for individual medals and FUN.  Congratulations to all those who participated as well as the medalists.

Red Ball athletes: Mac Brunetti, Teertha Desai, Jay Hundiwala, Lia Kolp, Mandala Lang, Rishi Patel, Olivia Rodgers, Vivian Timberg

Orange Ball athletes: Keira Calista, Mereck Epperson, Katie Fanelli,  Abigail Kolp, Aidan Pustay, Namrata Sureddy

Green Ball athletes: Connor Gallagher, Regan Griffith, Nicholas Kitchenman, Ava Kolp,  Alison Linkewich, Aidan Pasternoster, Kathleen Quigley, Ariele Spivack, Isabelle Spivack, Ruhaan Vaidya, Brianna Wilkinson
