Volunteer Leadership Opportunities

SUMMER  VOLUNTEER AND TOURNAMENT/PLAY OPPORTUNITES

The 16th Annual Bucks County Jr. Tennis Classic will be held July 27-29, at Council Rock North High School, 62 Swamp Rd, Newtown, PA 18940.  This USTA- sanctioned event will be offered for Boys' and Girls' in the 18-and-under, 16-and-under, and 14-and-under divisions in both singles and doubles. Friday evening will be doubles play, Saturday and Sunday will be full days of singles matches. In addition to players, VOLUNTEERS are also needed for set-up and take down, court preparation, player registration, monitoring courts (timing warm-ups, assisting with disputes, etc.) etc. It is great experience for students and adults alike and hours can be used for student school credit.  Volunteers are welcome for all or part of the event.

 

In addition, the BCTA will be hosting its Summer Red Ball Fun tournament in early to mid-July in Doylestown. This 5-hour event qualifies volunteers also qualify for high school community service credit. (NOTE: The Fall event will be at Core Creek Park, Langhorne, Pa., in mid-October, date and time TBD. ) If interested, please email buckscountytennis@verizon.net to be placed on the list or for more information.

The BCTA also has year-round volunteer coaching opportunities available that also qualify for high school community service credit and sometimes lead to paying opportunities as well.
