The “grand finale” of the second season of BCTA’s “Tuesday Is Jr. Team Tennis” brought five BucksCounty teams together at Core Creek Park tennis courts for fun competition and camaraderie on August 9. Even the rains held off to enable completion of all matches.
During the past few months, the BCTA offered two five-week seasons of Tuesday Is Jr. Team Tennis, a one-hour per week program that provided participants with 40 minutes of practice and drill sessions, and 20 minutes of supervised match play (singles and doubles) in three ages groups from age 6 through 14.
This past Tuesday, Teams Doylestown (Coach Cristina Yanik), Warrington (Coach Stephen Parker), Frosty Hollow Tennis Center in Levittown (Coach Lori Benson), Core Creek Park (Coach Kay Rossi) and Newtown (Coach Felissa Dunn) competed for the final 2011 season. As always, coaches looked on with watchful eyes and offered helpful tips. The evening ended with recognition of competitors in categories such as sportsmanship and skill.
